JEWISH ITINERARY

12 Nights / 13 Days Itinerary 

Day 01:   Welcome to Israel, arrive at Ben Gurion Airport. Meeting and assistance through customs and transfer to our hotel in Tel-Aviv for overnight.

Day 02:   Morning drive to Ekron then to Rehovot, Weizman Institute, the we proceed to Rishon Le-Zion and then we'll walk along the winding cobblestone street of Old Jaffa, stopping at the galleries and boutiques. Dinner and overnight in TelAviv area.

Day 03:   Morning visit Tel-Aviv University, the continue to the unique Museum of the Diaspora housing the most complete records of the Jewish people. Visit Independence Museum. The afternoon is at leisure to visit, shop, stroll Carmel Market and Dizengoff Street, or just relax. Dinner and overnight in Tel Aviv area.

Day 04:   Begin the day by driving through the Mediterranean coast to Caesarea, former Roman capital, where we visit the 2000 year old theater, aqueducts and explore the Roman ruins. A scenic route brings us to beautiful Haifa. A city tour includes the Bahai Temple and Persian Gardens. From Haifa's Mt.Carmel, we enjoy the magnificent panoramic view.  We continue to Druz Villages and learning about their culture. Drive to the medieval port of Akko to visit the underground Crusaders' city. Continue to Rosh Hanikra and descend by cable car to the underwater grottos. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

 

Day 05:   This morning we visit Capernaum, see The Ruins of the Synagogue. See the Ruins of St. Peters House proceed to the ancient mountain city of Safed, the former center for Jewish Mysticism "Kabala" Wander through the cobbled street visiting the artists colony. Gain in a deeper understanding of the Golan Heights as we pass the national water carrier, Israel's mammoth engineering project. After crossing the Jordan River hear the story of the biggest tank battle in the world which took place in this area during the 1973 Yom Kippur War with the spirit of adventure, Free on your own for dinner in Tiberias. After dinner stroll through the town or along the seafront promenade and meet the people. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 06:   After breakfast, we visit the City of Beth She’an, the to Beit Alpha, Gan Hasholsa, then we proceed to the Jordan Valley, Jericho ( the oldest city on earth ) where we view the Spring of Elisha. We then travel the Old Roman Road. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 07:   This morning we Proceed to the giant Menorah outside the Knesset. Drive via the new Supreme Court Building to the Israel Museum. Visit the dramatic Shrine of the Book housing the Dead Sea Scrolls. Visit the Billy Rose Sculpture Garden. Then we go to visit Yad Vashem, Israel's national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. Spend time at the Museum and Children's Memorial, walk along the Street of the Righteous and through the newly opened Valley of the Destroyed Communities. We return to our hotel via Mea Shearim. This evening we welcome shabbat at the Western Wall. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 08:   We drive via the mountains that surround Jerusalem to Mt.Scopus, where we see some of the greatest panoramic views of the "Golden City" and the Judan Desert. Continue via the Mt.Scopus campus of Hebrew University to Hadassah Medical Center to view the Chagall Windows. On to Ammunition Hill, the site of one of the fiercest Six day War battles,  uniting Jerusalem into one city. Continue to the scale model of Jerusalem from the time of the second Temple. Next we visit
a new JNF forest where we experience the thrill of planting trees. Proceed to the Old City which we enter at the Zion Gate to restored Jewish Quarter. Visit the Cardo, main shopping center of Byzantine times, and the four ancient reconstructed Sephardic Synagogues. Continue to the recently discovered ancient wall of Jerusalem from the time of King Solomon. Descend to the Western Wall, where Jews have come for centuries to pray and mourn. View new excavations of the remainder of the Wall. This evening free on your own for dinner to experience a taste of Israel at popular Jerusalem restaurant. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 09:   Tower of David Museum, Then to Avshalom Stalactite Caves and Latrun Camp. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 10:   Begin the day by view the Caves of Qumran then we proceed to Masada, rising above the shores of the Dead Sea. Ascend by cable car to the mountain fortress, an experience to last a lifetime. Afterwards explore the excavations. Continuing our day through the Dead Sea, Sodom, to Eilat. Then to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 11:   Day at lesiure........
Free on your own for dinner and overnight in Eilat.

Day 12:   Visit Timna Park-King Solomn's Pillars, then we continue to Kibbutz Sde Boker,the home of David Ben Gurion, Israel's first Prime Minister. Next we include the thrilling observatory above Israel's Grand Canyon" ,the GREAT CRATER, located at Mitzpe Ramon. Dinner and overnight in Tel Aviv.

Day 13:   Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
